About the Comic

Magical Hazel is an experimental comic that is a love letter to my favorite things about videogames, psychology, and anime (specifically magical girls, because duh!). It’s about elegant action sequences, weird places and monsters, nerd references and jokes, and it’s about the complexities of friendship and identity. You’ll get to know Hazel Brown, an embodiment of my passion for games – she’s perhaps a little TOO passionate – who discovers she has a knack for fighting monsters! What she lacks, however, is that same passion for real people. I’m excited to see how she learns and grows over the course of this story!

About the Author

Hi, my name’s Rawb, and I’ve been drawing ever since I was a little kid. I love creating new characters and drawing storyboards and I’m trying to learn animation! I’m from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the U.S. and I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016 with a B.S. in Psychology. I’m currently devoting a lot of my time to a research lab, but I try to work on Hazel in my free time.
